Dental Focus
During the months of September and October we will be focusing on dental health in our pets.
During these months we offer a 10% discount on all dental procedures, dental care products and dental foods.
We also offer free dental checks (please phone to book an appointment).
Dental care in pets is frequently overlooked and if left untreated can not only lead to oral pain and disease, but can also lead to a host of other problems, such as heart disease, renal disease and weight loss.
As with us prevention is always better than cure so if we can scale and polish your pets teeth when there is minor tartar build up this will often negate the need for dental extractions at a later date.
Dental diets and treat are also a great way to maintain oral health and can be used in conjunction with other foods.
Grooming parlour
We are delighted to be able to offer a grooming service at Hayfields Vet. The grooming parlour is run independently by Toni Harley and her team from Doggone– Clean Grooming parlour.
For bookings please contact Toni directly on 082 552 0422 or on Facebook: Doggone-Clean-Grooming-Parlour.
If you have a very nervous or arthritic dog or cat we can arrange sedation for them to reduce their stress whilst being groomed.
In Loving Memory of Nola Fourie
It is with great sorrow that we must pass on the news that Nola lost her battle with cancer in July of this year.
Nola was an inspiration to all of us in the way she lived her life. She always had a smile on her face, was always willing to help, and simply had a great love of life.
Our thoughts are with her family, and everyone that knew and lover her.
Staff changes:
There are a couple of new faces at Hayfields Vet.
Sadly Dr Cindi Leitch will be leaving us as she is moving to New Zealand. We wish her and her family all the best and thank her for all she has done at Hayfields Vet.
With Cindi leaving we have been very fortunate to welcome Dr Adriaan Adank to the practice.
Dr Adank qualified from Onderstepoort in 2010 and has been practicing in 7 a man Veterinary Hospital in Windoek, Namibia. Adriaan is happy seeing all creatures great and small and has a special interest in surgery.
We are sure that you will appreciate the high level of veterinary care that Adriaan will provide your pets.
Toni Harley (who also runs Doggone-Clean grooming parlour) has joined us as a part time receptionist. Toni has a wealth of knowledge about pets and their veterinary needs. She is also very involved in canine agility and spends most Saturdays competing with her dogs Brynn, Nic and Syd.
Happily Dr Greg Mills is still consulting, on Tuesdays and the occasional Saturday.
If you would like to see a particular veterinarian please let the receptionist know when you phone to book an appointment or surgery and, where possible, we will try to accommodate you.
